Research on digital higher education

How valuable is the role played by online-supported teaching and learning methods at higher education institutions? What added value do they provide, and what technical, didactic and organisational obstacles need to be overcome in connection with them? The funding line "Research on digital higher education" ("Forschung zur digitalen Hochschulbildung"), which was announced by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in February 2016, focuses on higher education institutions' current e-learning practice. In addition, it studies the potential applications of new technical developments from other societal areas.

The kick-off event for this funding line will take place on 3 and 4 July 2017. The programme for the event, and a registration form, are available here. In space provided by the BMBF, representatives of funded projects will present their projects, and discuss current relevant issues with experts in scientific and application-oriented subject areas.
